Muzaffargarh:A man was killed and another sustained serious injuries when unidentified assailants opened fire on two motorcyclists on the Multan Road in Fatehpur tehsil of Layyah district.
According to police, the two men were travelling when unidentified assailants opened fire on them. As a result, one man was killed on the spot while the other sustained critical injuries. The deceased was identified as Amir Niazi, while the injured was identified as Zohaib Rafiq. Police said the incident appeared to be linked to an old enmity, adding that further facts would emerge as the investigation progressed.
The police Crime Scene Unit and forensic team collected necessary evidence from the crime scene.
Rescue 1122 personnel shifted the body of the deceased to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, while the critically injured man was referred to Nishtar Hospital, Multan, for treatment. Police have registered a case and launched a search operation to arrest the unidentified suspects.
