Multan: Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Multan region arrested a patwari red-handed while receiving a bribe of Rs10,000 during a successful trap raid on Tuesday. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Regional Director ACE Multan Basharat Nabi by Circle Officer ACE Vehari Mansoor Ali Khan and his team. According to the ACE, Patwari Zahoor Ahmad of Halqa 577/EB was arrested while receiving Rs10,000 in bribe. Marked (tainted) currency notes were recovered from his possession and taken into custody in accordance with legal procedure. The accused had already received Rs15,000 from a complainant, Khurram Hayat, s/o Zafar Iqbal, in exchange for issuing a land record extract (Fard), and was arrested while demanding and receiving an additional bribe. The patwari’s private munshi Nabeel and Sharafat, both private persons, were also arrested at the spot.
