Gujrat: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) inspected 56 food points across the Gujrat district, issued 27 improvement notices and imposed Rs78,000 fine on five outlets over hygiene violations.
According to an official, the inspections were conducted on the directions of Deputy District Officer Sadia Rafat. The teams also collected five food samples for laboratory testing and discarded 100 litres of substandard milk.
The PFA said inspections and enforcement actions would continue to ensure provision of safe and quality food to citizens.
