PHC Abbottabad bench orders to appoint 102 grade IV employees

District

ABBOTTABAD: Peshawar High Court (PHC) Abbottabad bench Saturday issued a favorable decision for 102 grade IV employees who were waiting for an appointment in the Department of Education of Primary, Middle, and High Schools.

Following the completion of a thorough hearing, the bench directed the Department of Education to proceed with appointments for 102 positions.

The interviews for these positions were conducted in January 2023 by the Female District Education Officer (DEO) in Abbottabad. Despite the completion of the appointment process before the conclusion of the provincial assembly, the Election Commission of Pakistan imposed a ban, leading to a delay in the issuance of appointment orders.

The Female DEO Abbottabad legalized the ban based on a justification provided by the Election Commission. Subsequently, in February, three affected candidates, namely Naeed Khan, Bilal Ahmed, and Aamir Sohail, filed a petition against the decision in the PHC Abbottabad bench.

The Attorney General, representing the
government, presented arguments in favor of the decision. After a comprehensive hearing considering all three petitions, the Abbottabad bench issued a verdict instructing the Department of Education to proceed with the appointment of grade four employees.
