Peshawar: Peshawar Institute of Cardiology (PIC) celebrated Pakistan’s 80th Independence Day with national spirit, unity and patriotic enthusiasm. A cake-cutting ceremony was held at the institute, attended by the leadership, administration, and staff members from various departments.
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Shahkar Ahmad Shah, Dean and CEO, PIC; Dr. Ali Raza, Medical Director; and Qazi Saadullah, Hospital Director, along with members of the hospital administration and staff.
Speaking on the occasion, Medical Director Dr. Ali Raza congratulated the entire nation on Pakistan’s Independence Day.
He said that it has always been the commitment of Peshawar Institute of Cardiology to provide the people with modern and advanced facilities for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
He recalled that on the previous Independence Day, PIC successfully performed 14 TAVI procedures in a single day without open-heart surgery, setting a world record.
He described the achievement as a clear reflection of the institute’s clinical expertise, dedication and commitment to serving the people. He added that PIC would continue to provide modern and quality cardiac healthcare services with the same spirit and dedication.
Hospital Director Qazi Saadullah, in his message, said that August 14 is not only a day to celebrate independence but also an occasion to remember our responsibilities and renew our commitment to fulfilling them with greater dedication.
He said, ‘As Hospital Director, I am committed to working together with the entire hospital team to serve our people with sincerity, responsibility and dedication, because Pakistan belongs to us and we belong to Pakistan.’
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the security, stability, progress and prosperity of Pakistan, as well as the well-being of its people.
