Police tighten security for Women’s U19 cricket tournament at Iqbal Stadium: CPO

Faisalabad: City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain said that Faisalabad police have stepped up security around Iqbal Stadium for the ongoing Women’s Under-19 cricket tournament by deploying enhanced security measures for players, officials and spectators while ensuring close surveillance inside and around the venue to prevent any untoward incident.



He visited the stadium to inspect security arrangements for the tournament and review the deployment of police personnel assigned to the venue.



SP Lyallpur Town Abid Zafar briefed the CPO about the security plan and arrangements put in place for the matches.



During visit, the CPO also briefed officers and police personnel deployed on duty about security protocols and directed them to remain vigilant throughout the tournament.



He ordered that body searches of all individuals entering the stadium should be conducted without exception, stressing that effective checking at entry points was essential for the safety of players, officials and spectators.



Any negligence or dereliction of duty would not be tolerated; he warned and directed the personnel to perform their responsibilities with utmost alertness and professionalism.



The CPO also ordered intensified patrolling around the stadium and directed police officials to ensure checking of all suspicious or unauthorized persons in the surrounding areas.



He said that security personnel should maintain a constant watch over the movement of people around the venue and immediately respond to any suspicious activity.



He said that the stadium and its surrounding areas were also being kept under continuous surveillance through Safe City cameras to further strengthen security monitoring and ensure an effective response in case of any emergency.



He said that comprehensive and stringent security arrangements had been made for the protection of the participating players as well as citizens attending the matches.



He directed all officers and personnel to remain fully alert and ensure that spectators could watch the matches in a safe and secure environment.



The security personnel had been deployed at key points and around the stadium as part of the comprehensive security plan for the Women’s Under-19 cricket tournament, he added.
