Dera ismail khan:Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) workers celebrated the imposition of governor’s rule and emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at two separate gatherings in the district.
The expressed support for President Asif Ali Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.
At Mian Khel House, the celebration was led by PPP Divisional President Sardar Qaizar Khan Mian Khel, where workers distributed sweets, danced to drumbeats and chanted slogans in support of the party leadership.
While celebration event was hosted by PPP District President Malik Farhan Dhap at his residence, featuring fireworks and expressions of support for the provincial governor and the party’s central leadership.
The gathering at Mian Khel House was attended by PPP City President Haji Fazlur Rehman Baloch, Shah Fahad Ansari Advocate, Chaudhry Khalid, Faheem Khan Advocate, Aqeel Dumra, Salam Khan and Malik Farooq of Prova, along with other party leaders, elected local government representatives, traders and party workers.
Addressing the participants, Sardar Qaizar Khan Mian Khel said the PPP supported the imposition of governor’s rule and emergency in the province, expressing hope that the measures would help improve the prevailing situation.
He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had governed the province for nearly 13 years, adding that people now wanted peace, development and better governance.
He highlighted the PPP’s history of sacrifices and democratic struggle, stating that President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had played important roles in promoting democracy and strengthening the democratic process.
He expressed optimism that the measures would accelerate development activities, create employment opportunities and help resolve public grievances.
Speaking on the occasion, Malik Farhan Dhap also endorsed the decision, saying that improving law and order, protecting citizens’ lives and property, and ensuring effective administration should be the top priorities.
He stressed the need for an effective strategy and practical measures to restore peace and eliminate terrorism, adding that if governor’s rule and emergency helped bring stability to the province, the move could prove beneficial for the public.
The participants also chanted slogans in favour of the PPP leadership, while party workers exchanged congratulations and reiterated their support for the provincial government’s measures.
