Islamabad: The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) turned bearish on Friday, losing 346. 57 points, a negative change of 0. 19 percent, to close at 181, 430. 02 points against 181, 776. 60 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 716. 039 million shares, compared to 793. 353 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value declined to Rs34. 102 billion from Rs40. 313 billion. Market capitalisation fell to Rs20. 238 trillion from Rs20. 264 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 492 companies that traded in the ready market, 207 posted gains, 260 suffered losses, while 25 remained unchanged, reflecting a predominantly bearish trend across the market.
Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with 161. 178 million shares, followed by Bank of Punjab with 52. 334 million shares and Wasl Mobility Mod with 24. 217 million shares.
Among the top gainers, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited surged by Rs139. 00 to close at Rs25, 350. 00, while The Thal Industries Corporation Limited advanced by Rs70. 49 to settle at Rs1, 476. 87.
On the losing side, PIA Holding Company LimitedB declined by Rs47. 60 to close at Rs17, 848. 40, while Tandlianwala Sugar Mills Limited fell by Rs33. 14 to Rs576. 30.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 162. 568 million shares with a traded value of Rs7. 490 billion, compared with 189. 928 million shares worth Rs9. 405 billion in the previous session.
Of the 305 companies traded in the DFC market, 112 advanced, 188 declined and five remained unchanged.
