Lahore: Punjab University (PU) Directorate of Student Affairs organized an awareness seminar on the federal government’s youth-friendly initiatives, educational facilities and relief programmes at Al Raazi Hall here on Tuesday. Member of the National Assembly and Parliamentary Secretary for Federal Education and Professional Training Rabia Naseem Farooqi attended the seminar as chief guest. The seminar aimed to create awareness among students about government programmes and facilities related to education, technology and economic relief, while providing authentic information about public welfare initiatives. Addressing the seminar, Rabia Naseem Farooqi said improving young people’s access to education, technology and economic opportunities remains among the government’s key priorities. She highlighted the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, expansion of educational opportunities and initiatives for talented students from underprivileged backgrounds. overnment efforts to expand its scope. She said a special fuel relief programme had been introduced on the directions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in view of rising global petroleum prices, particularly to provide relief to users of motorcycles, rickshaws and small cars. PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali said promotion of higher education was among the priorities of the federal and provincial governments, while universities had a responsibility to inform students about available educational, financial and technological opportunities. He said Pakistan’s youth were the country’s most valuable asset and stressed the need for providing them with education, skills and opportunities to build a prosperous future in their own country. The vice chancellor highlighted the importance of Laptop Scheme in the era of digital learning and artificial intelligence and termed Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Honhaar Scholarship Programme an important initiative for expanding access to higher educa
