Lahore:Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has announced new sports cycles and kits for the participants in the First Jashan-e-Azadi President Asif Ali Zardari Cycle Rally 2024.
Welcoming the cycle rally participants upon arrival at the Governor’s House here on Wednesday, he warmly welcomed the cyclists and PPP workers from Kasur. He said that the doors of the Governor’s House were open to all and sundry, adding that the rally is a celebration of the 69th birthday of President Asif Ali Zardari.
The governor, accompanied by PPP leader Haji Azizur Rehman Chan, said the rally also marks the 77th Independence day of the country.
The First Jashan e Azadi President Asif Ali Zardari Cycle Rally started from city of the great Sufi poet Bullah Shah – Kasur and will culminate at Jinnah Sports Complex Islamabad on August 13 – a day before the 77th Independence Day of the country.
After night’s rest at the Governor’s House, the cycle cyclists will depart for Sheranwala Bagh, Gujranwala at 9 am on August 8 (Thur
sdsy). The rally will pass through Lala Musa, Gujrat, Jhelum and Rawalpindi before reaching Islamabad.
Rally is led by Sabir Ali Kasuri (Coach) and Manager Sheikh Asim. The cyclists included Allah Ditta Bhatti (Captain), Akbar Ali Fauji, Muhammad Shafique, Ghulam Mustafa, Muhammad Ikram, Habibullah and Amjad Ali.
President PPP Central Punjab Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and General Secretary Syed Hassan Murtaza have patronised the first Jashan e Azadi President Asif Ali Zardari Cycle Rally.
