Railway Minister reviews matters of Pakistan Railways


Karachi: Federal Minister for Railway, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Thursday chaired an important meeting regarding the matters of Pakistan Railways, here. Among other notables, Secretary and Chairman Railways Syed Mazhar Ali Shah, Chief Executive Officer Railways, Muhammad Hafeezullah, Deputy Inspector General Railways Police, Munir Ahmed Sheikh, senior officers, and divisional officers, including the Divisional Superintendent (DS) of Karachi were in attendance.

During the meeting, a detailed briefing was given on the overall performance, reforms, and ongoing projects of the Karachi division.

Addressing the meeting, the Federal Minister for Railways stated that action plan should be implemented immediately to overcome the shortage of coaches.

The Railway Minister has sought a plan to operate 12 freight trains from Karachi.

He further directed that every possible measure be taken to ensure the timely departure of passenger trains.

Muhammad Hanif Abbasi also directed to expedite the operation for removal of
encroachment from the railway-owned land.
