Karachi: Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Friday conducted an important visit to the Port Qasim here.
Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi met with the Chairman of the Port Qasim Authority.
The Federal Minister was briefed on the port’s overall performance, operational systems, and future requirements.
The Minister for Railways inspected the coal loading facility yard. “Railway freight planning connected to the ports needs to be made more effective,” stated Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi.
“By increasing capacity, the maximum volume of coal will be transported via rail,” said the Minister for Railways.
The Railways Minister directed the railway administration that, “Coal train loading must be completed in two hours instead of three.”
“Coal trains must be operated with balanced weight; overloading will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” emphasized the Minister for Railways.
“Enhancing port connectivity and freight operations with Pakistan Railways is the need of the hour,” concluded Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi.
