RAWALPINDI:Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Task Force here on Saturday conducted a grand operation against four illegal housing schemes on Chakri Road including Abdullah City, Avalon City, Blue World City and Al-Imran Homes and demolished main gates, advertising boards, billboards, dividers and other infrastructure.
According to the RDA spokesman, the Task Force on the directives of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Liaqat Ali Chattha and the Chairman Task Force/Director General RDA, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa conducted a grand operation and took action in accordance with the law against the rules violators.
The Chairman Task Force said that on the complaints of the citizens, grand operations were being conducted to stop fraud of illegal housing schemes which were deceiving the public.
He said that several complaints were received from the citizens about illegal occupation and fraud of the illegal housing schemes. Strict action would be taken against those who try to occupy the land of the citizens forcefully, he added.
He said that the operations would continue against illegal housing schemes.
He advised the citizens not to invest in illegal housing schemes and visit RDA’s official website www.rda.gop.pk to know the status of the housing projects.
Earlier notices were also issued to the owners and sponsors of the illegal housing schemes namely Asim Aziz, Saad Nazir, Ch. Nadeem Ejaz and Imran Ahmad and FIRs were also lodged to stop illegal advertisements, booking of the plots and development work of the illegal housing schemes, he added.
The owners of the properties were running booking offices of illegal housing schemes in violation of the rules, he said adding, the Task Force including Deputy Director Planning Samiullah Niazi, Assistant Director Building Control RDA, Assistant Director Land RDA, Assistant Director Planning RDA, SHOs from Police Stations Chontra, Saddar Beroni, Chakri and Dhamial, RDA Scheme Inspectors, District Council Inspector, District Administration Representative along with other team members took part in the grand operation.
