Rescue operation continues to rescue trapped miners in Sanjdi incident

Quetta: Director General of Provincial Disaster Management Authority Jahnzaib Khan said that the rescue teams are engaged in the rescue operations to extricate the trapped miners from the collapsed mine in Sanjdi area of Balochistan.



In a statement issued here on Friday, he said that the rescue operation is underway to save 12 miners trapped in a coal mine accident near the Sanjdi area, close to Quetta.



According to the provincial disaster management authority’s rescue team, teams have been working throughout the night to safely extract the miners.



DG PDMA, Jahanzaib Khan said that debris had been cleared from the entrance of the mine to facilitate the rescue operation.



Rescue equipment and ambulances have been deployed at the scene. The debris at the entrance to the mine has been successfully cleared, and efforts to advance deeper into the mine and continue the rescue operation have been intensified.



According to officials, after clearing the debris from the mine’s entrance, a significant amount of gas has been released.

“We will leave no stone unturned in rescuing the miners, said DG PDMA, Jahanzeb Khan.



The rubble from the front of UMC Haji Amir Mines has been cleared from to expedite the rescue of trapped miners, says Director Relief PDMA, Ataullah Mengal.



He said that relief supplies and ambulances are present at the site, adding that significant progress has been made in the mine incident.



Director Admin PDMA, Faisal Panezai said that rubble has been successfully cleared from the entrance to the mine to rescue the trapped miners safely and quickly.



The PDMA rescue team, along with the Mines and Mineral Department, has cleared the debris, says Director Admin PDMA, Faisal Panzai.



Director Relief PDMA, Faisal Tariq said that after clearing the rubble, efforts have been taken further into the mine and continue the rescue operation have been intensified.
