HYDERABAD:SAFCO in collaboration with Pakistan Mortgage Refinance Company (PMRC) has launched a housing program to provide financial assistance for the construction, renovation and purchase of houses for low-income group people.
The ground breaking meeting was held at SAFCO Head Office on March 15, 2022.
The meeting was attended by SAFCO CEO Suleman G. Abro, MD Sajjad Ali Shah, CFO Alina Iftikhar, Business Head Bashir Ahmed Abro, Arsala Anjum while PMRC was represented by Business Head Muhammad Shahzad Kha, Jamil Akhtar and Senior Manager Shaikh Taha Ahmad.
As per the collaboration, PMRC will provide long-term funds to SAFCO for its newly launched housing program and will further assist SAFCO on areas of training, capacity building and product development.
Suleman G. Abro expressed that “the biggest problem is the growing population in the country and scarcity of housing facilities to meet the demand, as people cannot afford to build their own houses due to lack of financial resources and the cost of rent they pay add more difficulties”. He was of the view that if SAFCO could provide money to people on easy terms to build a house, it will be a great service to the nation.
Muhammad Shahzad Khan praised the efforts of both teams for this groundbreaking moment and said that “it is indeed a proud moment for both the institutions, as we recognize the importance of mutual collaboration for increasing the accessibility of affordable housing finance in the country.
This partnership will play a vital role in the promotion of low-income housing and realizing the Government’s vision of making affordable housing a reality”.
He further appreciated the efforts of SAFCO in uplifting and accommodating the economically fragile pillar of the society.
