Chiniot: Secretary of Health Punjab Ms. Nadia Saqib, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Ms. Ayesha Rizwan, visited Chiniot to review healthcare facilities and ongoing development projects across the district.
During the visit, the Secretary inspected the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, a Community Health Workers (CHI) training session, the under-construction Population Welfare Health Office, and the new DHQ Hospital project.
At DHQ Hospital Chiniot, Ms. Nadia Saqib reviewed medical and administrative affairs and visited various wards. She inquired about patients’ treatment, availability of medicines, and the quality of healthcare services. Expressing dissatisfaction with the hospital’s management, she reprimanded the Medical Superintendent and directed that all administrative and medical issues be resolved immediately.
She later visited a CHI training session held at a private venue, where she interacted with health workers, assessed their performance, discussed the challenges they face, and responded to their questions. CEO Health Dr. Ahmad Khan, DHO Dr. Naima Ashraf, Lady Health Visitors (LHVs), Community Health Workers, and other health officials were present.
The Secretary also inspected the under-construction Population Welfare Health Office and reviewed the progress of construction. She directed the Executive Engineer (Buildings) to complete the project at the earliest and hand over the building to the Health Department without delay.
Ms. Nadia Saqib, along with Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan, also inspected the new DHQ Hospital under construction. The Executive Engineer (Buildings) Muhammad Adnan and the contractor briefed her on the project’s progress. She directed the concerned authorities to accelerate construction and ensure timely completion. She further instructed that all necessary medical equipment, furniture, and other healthcare facilities be installed before the hospital becomes operational.
The Secretary of Health said that providing citizens with quality and timely healthcare services was among the government’s top priorities. She emphasized that negligence in hospital administration and healthcare delivery would not be tolerated.
She also directed officials to ensure that all ongoing development projects were completed within the stipulated timeframe so that improved healthcare facilities could be provided to the public.
CEO Health Dr. Ahmad Khan, DHO Dr. Naima Ashraf, Executive Engineer (Buildings) Muhammad Adnan, the contractor, and other relevant officials were also present during the visit.
