Section 144 imposed in Abbottabad ahead of PMA parades and SSC examinations

District

Abbottabad:Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram Saturday has imposed Section 144 in the district to strengthen security arrangements ahead of Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul parades scheduled for October 13, 15 and 17, and to ensure the fair and transparent conduct of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations.

According to official notifications issued on Friday, various restrictions have been imposed to maintain law and order, prevent security threats and ensure peaceful examinations across the district.

Under the security-related order, restrictions have been imposed on protest gatherings, aerial firing, fireworks, the use of loudspeakers within a five-kilometre radius of Kakul, and flying drones and quadcopters.

The order also prohibits opening shops around PMA Kakul, parking vehicles at petrol and CNG stations, the movement of Afghan nationals on PMA Road, and pillion riding on motorcycles during specified hours.

Separately, Section 144 has been imposed within a 200-yard radius of SSC examination centres across the district. The restrictions prohibit gatherings, the sale and distribution of pocket guides and unauthorized study materials, the use of photocopying machines and mobile phones within the designated areas.

The deputy commissioner directed the relevant authorities to ensure strict implementation of both orders, adding that the measures were intended to prevent untoward incidents, strengthen public safety, curb cheating and maintain transparency in the examination process.

Violators of the orders will face legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
