Lahore: The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) ensured comprehensive sanitation arrangements across the city during the 983rd annual Urs celebrations of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh Ali Hajveri (RA) and the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), deploying more than 700 sanitation workers to facilitate devotees.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sheryar Arif Khan, accompanied by Deputy CEOs Altaf Ansari and Mubeen Ahsan, along with the General Manager Operations, personally inspected sanitation arrangements before and during the religious events. The officials visited the Data Darbar, Chehlum procession routes and several areas of the Walled City to review the progress of the special cleanliness operation. CEO Sheryar Arif Khan monitored the attendance of sanitation staff and the deployment of cleanliness operational machinery along procession routes, Imam Bargahs, Data Darbar and adjoining roads in Ravi Town and Data Ganj Bakhsh Town. He also said that more than 700 sanitation workers remained deployed in three shifts at Imam Bargahs, procession routes, Data Darbar and surrounding areas throughout the Urs and Chehlum observances. He added that 370 sanitation workers were assigned exclusively to the Walled City, where manual sweeping, mechanical washing and waste clearance operations continued uninterrupted. Cleaning tea
ms remained stationed along all major procession routes, including Mughal Haveli, Nisar Haveli, Kotwali Chowk, Sunehri Mosque, Rang Mahal, Pani Wala Talab, Tibbi Thana, Tehsil Bazaar, Adda Hakiman, Bhati Gate, Karbala Gamay Shah, Delhi Gate, Gali Suraj Singh and the vicinity of Wazir Khan Mosque.
