Lahore: The Duty Judge in Labour Court No. 1 on Friday vacated the stay order regarding suspension of the elections of APP Employees Union Punjab and also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the petitioner for cheating and misleading the court and spoiling its time.
According to the details, the elections of APP Employees Union Punjab 2024-26 were to be held between Founder Group and Friends Group on August 15. However, out of the total 13 seats, the Founder Group’s 12 candidates including the President were elected unopposed, while the election was to be conducted on the General Secretary seat between Muhammad Ali Asghar of Founder Group and Naeem Khan Niazi of Friends Group on August 15. But Naeem Khan Niazi managed to get a stay order from the Labour Court just two days ahead of the polling day. The court fixed the hearing on Friday (August 16).
Mian Dawood Advocate and Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Khichhi Advocate appeared before the court on behalf of the respondents and submitted their comprehensive arguments w
ith documental evidence/proofs. While the petitioner appeared in person without any documents and also failed to prove his grievance.
The Labour Court Duty Judge vacated the stay and ordered petitioner Naeem Niazi to pay Rs 10,000 fine for lying and misleading the court.
Now the APP Employees Union Punjab election 2024-26 will be held today, Saturday (August 17).
