‘Sukh Chain Yatra’ organised to promote tree plantation

Bahawalpur A unique ‘Sukh Chain Yatra’ was organised in Bahawalpur under the Beautiful Punjab vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to promote tree plantation and environment-friendly activities in the city.



Organised by the Parks and Horticulture Authority Bahawalpur (PHA) under the leadership of Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia, the plantation campaign was launched under the theme ‘For Green’. The initiative aims to encourage citizens to participate in tree plantation, promote eco-friendly activities and contribute to making Bahawalpur greener, cleaner and more attractive.



Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia formally inaugurated the plantation activity by planting a sapling at the green belt of the Commissioner’s Office. Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hasan Raza and Director General Parks and Horticulture Authority Dr Nair Mustafa also planted saplings. Officers of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office and other participants actively took part in the plantation drive.



Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia said that the ‘Sukh Chain Yatra’ was a unique initiative aimed at promoting environment-friendly activities and creating greater awareness among citizens about the importance of tree plantation. He said such activities could not only enhance the beauty of Bahawalpur’s urban landscape but also play an important role in creating a healthier and more positive environment for citizens. The commissioner stressed the importance of collective efforts to establish a greener and more beautiful environment, saying that along with planting trees, it was equally important to ensure their proper care and develop a sense of environmental responsibility among the public.



Deputy Commissioner Syed Hasan Raza said the ‘Sukh Chain Yatra’ symbolized a commitment to environmental protection and tree plantation, encouraging citizens to play a practical role in improving their surroundings. He said effective measures would continue to be taken to promote tree plantation and transform Bahawalpur into a greener, more beautiful and environment-friendly city. The distinctive activity organized by PHA Bahawalpur conveyed a message of promoting positive, healthy and environment-friendly trends in urban life. Citizens were also encouraged to plant more trees, take proper care of saplings and contribute actively to making Bahawalpur a greener city.
