Teacher’s bail plea rejected in fake certificate case

Layyah: The Special Judge Anti-Corruption,Dera Ghazi Khan on Friday rejected the bail application of a government primary school teacher accused of arranging fake educational certificates from a Sindh educational board.



According to Anti-Corruption Establishment sources, the accused, identified as government primary school teacher Asghar Ali, wass facing a case registered at the Anti-Corruption Police Station Layyah under FIR No. 28/2026, under Section 161 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 5(2)/47 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.



According to the FIR, the accused allegedly received a bribe from complainant Muhammad Iqbal for arranging an FSc certificate and result card for his son from an educational board in Sindh and allegedly misused his official position for the purpose.



The sources said a raid was conducted on the accused under the supervision of a magistrate,during which marked currency notes worth Rs.50,000 were allegedly recovered from his possession.



Following the proceedings, the Special Judge Anti-Corruption rejected the accused’s bail application.



Anti-Corruption authorities said the scope of the investigation had been expanded in light of the accused’s disclosures.
