Dera ismail khan: The traders of Dera Ismail Khan district have demanded the early completion of the city’s flyover, drainage and road rehabilitation projects, saying delays have severely disrupted business activities and created hardships for traders and the general public.
They expressed these concerns during a meeting of the ‘Markazi Ajumun-e-Tajiran’ held under the chairmanship of Sohail Ahmed Azmi and attended by industrialists, traders, media representatives and other stakeholders.
Speaking at the meeting, Kafeel Ahmed Nizami, Sohail Ahmed Azmi, Khalid Hussain, Irfan Mughal and Muhammad Rehan stressed the need for speedy completion of the ongoing development schemes.
The speakers said prolonged delays in the projects had caused serious problems for the public and adversely affected commercial activities in the city.
They particularly called for completion of the flyover, improvement of the drainage system and repair and reconstruction of damaged roads.
The traders also demanded improved facilities at the male and female hospitals in D.I. Khan, saying better healthcare services should be provided to citizens.
Participants expressed concern over heavy traffic fines and the alleged behavior of traffic police towards citizens.
They called for a review of traffic enforcement practices and urged officials to address public grievances.
The meeting also called for enhanced security along the CPEC route during night hours, to end corruption in public institutions and effective measures to control prolonged power load-shedding.
The participants also demanded that the D.I. Khan Chamber of Commerce and Industry be made more representative and accessible to the wider business community.
The meeting was attended by a large number of traders and representatives, including Khalid Hussain, Muhammad Ramzan, Chaudhry Muhammad Jameel, Mahmood Kharoti, Javed Akhtar, Sheikh Majeed Ahmed, Muhammad Nawaz, Haseebullah, Haider Ali, Haji Amanullah, Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Khalil, Muhammad Ismail, Muhammad Khalid, Arshad Baloch, Saeed Awan, Muhammad Imran, Sher Muhammad, Chaudhry Riaz, Haji Saleem, Muhammad Rehan, Gulshan Bakers, Muhammad Zeeshan, Naveed Nizami, Muhammad Tayyab, Ibrahim Lahori, Faisal Sanaullah, Sahibzada Muhammad Hassan, Mohibullah Poultry Farm and others.
At the conclusion, participants offered Fateha and prayers for the victims of the Darazinda suicide attack and for the deceased trader leader Muhammad Amin alias Lala Jani.
A dinner was also hosted for the participants by Kafeel Ahmed Nizami, Patron-in-Chief of the traders’ body.
