Rawalpindi: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has reserved its verdict on prosecution petitions seeking cancellation of bail granted to nine suspects in the Sidra Arab murder case, with the final decision scheduled for November 3.
Presiding over the proceedings, the court adjourned further hearing of the Pirwadhai police case until October 5 after lawyers for both the prosecution and defence concluded their arguments.
The prosecution sought cancellation of the suspects’ bail following the addition of anti-terrorism provisions to the case. Law enforcement authorities argued that Sidra Arab was allegedly killed in an honour-related incident and secretly buried in an attempt to conceal the crime and destroy evidence.
The prosecution maintained that the nature of the allegations warranted the application of anti-terrorism provisions and sought the cancellation of bail granted to the accused.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court reserved its decision, which is scheduled to be announced on November 3.
