Two accused involved in multi-crore thefts arrested from Jhang


Lahore: Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police arrested Mehtab, a wanted accused in multi-crore thefts, and his relative Abdul Rehman from Jhang.



According to police, the accused Mehtab has been involved in several incidents, including a major theft of Rs. 220 million in Karachi.



According to the spokesperson for DIG Operations, 18 cases of theft and burglary have been registered against the arrested accused Mehtab. The accused was also allegedly involved in a major theft of Rs. 220 million in the Saddar area of Karachi in April 2026.



According to the police, the arrested accused have also been involved in various incidents of house theft in Jhang, Faisalabad and Rahim Yar Khan. It has also been revealed that the accused Mehtab was involved in a theft incident in a house near the Jhang Motorway Bypass.



During the operation, a 9mm pistol and bullets were recovered from the possession of accused Abdul Rehman, while stolen goods related to a theft case registered at Ramna Police Station in Islamabad were also recovered.



Police said that the stolen laptop, original documents and laptop bag were also recovered from accused Mehtab, while the tablet and mobile phone stolen during the incident in Jhang were also seized.



According to the spokesperson, important evidence related to various incidents and more stolen goods have also been recovered on the identification of the accused. The arrested accused are relatives and residents of Jhang district who were residing in Pak Line City, Kot Abdul Malik.



The police have arrested both the accused and started further investigation. According to the officials, information is being obtained from the accused regarding more incidents and their other associates.
