Two arrested with equipment on depriving Ehsaas beneficiaries of money

MUZAFFARGARH: Ehsaas Kifalat Programme (EKP) officials caught two retailers and handed them over to FIA cyber crime wing on charge of making illegal cuts from the financial assistance meant for ehsaas programme beneficiary women at Kot Addu on Monday.

Assistant director ehsaas Kifalat programme Malik Zafar Ali during a surprise visit to payment counters along with assistant director Kot Addu Irfan Khursheed Malik, found two accused Abdur Razzaq and Naveed using fraudulent tactics to deprive ehsaas beneficiary women of the financial aid they receive under ehsaas, a flagship social safety programme of the government.

The two accused were handed over to FIA cyber crime wing and equipment including HBL device, artificial thumbs made of silicon, location software used to show fake location and other equipment were recovered.

During a visit to payment counters in Rangpur, the officials, in response to a complaint from a woman Hafeezaan Mai, recovered Rs 9000 from Jilani mobiles ID No 1713126 and handed the cash over to the complainant.

A case was also got registered against the accused with Rangpur police.

Zafar Ali said that no fraudster involved in depriving ehsaas beneficiaries of their money were being spared adding retailers involved in wrongdoing were being arrested and nominated in FIRs.
