Dera ghazi khan: Two members of the Palu gang were killed after allegedly being hit by firing from their own accomplices during a police encounter near Basti Baloch in the jurisdiction of Gaddai police station, police said on Friday.
According to police, the deceased, Imran alias Muchhar and Allah Wasaya, were wanted in several serious criminal cases, including robbery-cum-murder and highway robbery.
SHO Gaddai Shehzad Afzal said police received information about the presence of armed suspects in the area with an alleged intention to commit a crime. Teams from Gaddai, Sakhi Sarwar and Sadar police stations reached the spot, where the suspects opened fire.
Police returned fire in self-defence. After the exchange of fire, two suspects were found dead at the scene. Police said they were apparently killed by firing from their own accomplices, who fled the area.
Police collected evidence from the scene and started further legal proceedings, while raids were being conducted to arrest the fleeing suspects.
