Lahore:A local court on Tuesday granted six-day physical remand of two suspects arrested in a case involving the alleged gang rape of a foreign woman.
Police produced the two suspects, Ali and Mohsin before Judicial Magistrate Azhar Mahmood in Cantonment Kacheri.
The police sought the suspects’ physical remand, stating that they needed to be interrogated as part of the investigation.
The court approved the request and directed police to produce the suspects again on October 5.
The Defence C police had registered a case against the suspects over the alleged rape of the foreign woman.
Meanwhile, a sessions court granted interim pre-arrest bail to suspect Nimra until October 5 in the same case.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Riffaqat Ali heard Nimra’s bail petition and restrained police from arresting her until the next hearing.
The court also directed Nimra to join the investigation.
Nimra had approached the court seeking pre-arrest bail, expressing apprehension that she could be arrested in connection with the case.
