Peshawar:Work has begun on a drainage channel in College Town Kohat to address recurring rainwater flooding during the monsoon season, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information and Science and Information Technology Minister Shafi Jan said on Thursday.
The new channel will connect the final section of the existing drainage system with the main drain at Kalu Chana, improving the flow of rainwater and reducing water accumulation in College Town.
Shafi Jan in a statement said the project, funded from his allocations, would provide a more effective drainage system and help prevent rainwater from entering homes during heavy rainfall.
He said improved drainage would also reduce the financial losses and difficulties faced by residents during the monsoon season.
The minister said the government was focusing on practical and lasting solutions to public problems and described effective service delivery as an essential element of public service.
