ISLAMABAD:The expert of internal affairs Dr. Munawar Hassan has said that the world powers and the United Nations have dual standards towards the issues of Muslims and have hollow claims regarding liberty, equal justice and expression of freedom.
Talking to PTV News on Tuesday he said the US particularly has closed its eyes towards Palestine and Kashmir issue while Israel and India had been given free hand to let loose the reign of terror to suppress the voice of Kashmiris and the people of Palestine.
Dr Munawar was of the view that the US has given priority to its vested interests and has made Israel and India its allies while adopting two-prong policies, he said.
He observed that India and Israel have turned Palestine and Kashmir into Army Garrison and concentration camps while bypassing international laws, norms and human standards and continued by saying that the 8 billion population of the world has become a hostage of few world powers and even UN has just become the tool of these powers and practically it has done nothing to address the Palestine and Kashmir issue which were lingering on UN agenda for several decades and said that UN was established for the maintenance of peace, justice, freedom of speech and upholding the rights of weaker nations around the globe but it failed to act upon, he maintained.
He said the prompt action from the UN and the US and the dual standards is quite evident when East Taimour was separated from Indonesia and South Sudan was separated from the Sudan government which were their integral parts.
He appealed to emerging world powers to segregate from the current system and move forward to set the balance of power based on equal justice and humanity which was the need of the hour.
He observed that the extreme of nationalism of India and Israel based on hate was a threat to humanity and the world community should take serious notice in this connection to maintain peace across the glob.
