Havelian: A young man was shot dead in Bani village within the jurisdiction of Havelian Police Station, police suspecting that the killing might be linked to an honour-related matter.
According to police, the body of Faiq Abbasi, son of Muhammad Bashir and a resident of Rawalpindi, was recovered from the second floor of a house in the village.
The deceased had reportedly sustained a bullet injury to the head. His maternal uncle, Amjad, son of Gul Zaman, a resident of Havelian village, identified the body.
Police took the body into custody and shifted it to Havelian Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The suspects fled the scene after the incident. Police registered a case under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and launched a search for the accused.
A special police team has also been constituted to investigate the incident and ascertain the motive and circumstances surrounding the killing.
