BAHAWALPUR:On the directions of Punjab government, Zakat Day was observed at District Zakat Office Bahawalpur here to put light on the importance of Zakat.
According to a press release issued here, a ceremony was held at District Zakat Office Bahawalpur to observe Zakaat Day. Speaking on this occasion, District Zakat Officer, Muhammad Asif Iqbal urged donors and philanthropists to donate money to help poor families.
He said that a drive had been launched to convince philanthropists and rich segments of the society to donate money for poor families and deposit their Zakat to bank accounts of the District Zakat Office.
He said that money collected on head of Zakat was used to help poor families of the society.
