HYDERABAD:The Government College (GC) University Hyderabad and Pakistan Bait-ul- Mal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for grant of Ehsas Kafalat Scholarship aimed at to help underprivileged students in their higher studies.
The GC University spokesman informed here on Friday that the Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Tayyaba Zarif and Managing Director (MD) Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM), Zaheer Abbas Khokhar held detailed deliberations about success of Ehsas Kafalat Scholarship for undergraduate students of all higher learning institutions of the country and discussed the benefit of the programme for the underprivileged students. The VC informed that GC University was a historical learning institution that was first established in 1917 with status of college and later upgraded to the status of University. She proposed to MD, PBM to double the scholarship for GC University students so that more underprivileged students could get financial assistance to continue their higher education. The proposal of the Vice Chancellor was accepted by the Managing Director Pakistan Bait ul Mal, the university spokesman informed. Zaheer Abbas on the occasion informed that PBM has been engaged in signing MoUs with more than 80 higher educational institutions across the country aimed to help the poor and the needy students.
