COAS G-1 Taekwondo Championship from November 6

ISLAMABAD:The Chief of Army Staff G-1 Taekwondo Championship will be held in Islamabad, Pakistan from November 6 to 8.

“Preparations are underway for the mega international event at Liaquat Gymnasium Hall of Pakistan Sports Board, Col (r) Wasim Janjua, president of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) said on Thursday.

He said around 300 national athletes would participate in the country’s largest taekwondo event.

“Along with two national teams, provincial, departments, and services teams will also feature in the event,” he said.

“International referees have been invited to supervise the matches,” he added.

The last date of registration for players is October 25.

According to Wasim foreign teams had also shown keen interest to participate in the COAS G-1 event ).

Wasim Janjua said that the PTF would nominate international and national personalities as goodwill ambassadors for the event.

President of South Asian Taekwondo Association and Honorary Vice President of PTF Omar Saeed said that hosting an international level event would help in highlighting the positive aspects of Pakistan in the field of sports and send a positive message about Pakistan to the whole world.
