ISLAMABAD:An Accountability Court (AC) on Thursday rejected the NAB request for further physical remand of B4U Company’s owner Saif ur Rehman Niazi and sent the accused to jail on judicial remand.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) produced the accused Saif ur Rehman, allegedly involved in looting the public on the name of investment, before Accountability Court-I Judge Muhammad Bashir. The NAB official informed the court regarding progress into investigation and prayed the judge to grant more physical remand of the accused for further investigations regarding the banks details and public officer holders.
The defence lawyer Latif Khosa opposed the NAB request and said if his client had taken no loan from any bank then how he could be accused of it. The banking matters were not the jurisdiction of NAB, he pleaded.
The lawyer said that his client had filed an appeal against the fine imposed by Securities Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). He said his client was in NAB’s custody for one month and also prayed the court let him meet to his client.
After listening arguments, the court allowed the lawyer to meet the accused and later sent him to jail on judicial remand.
