FAISALABAD : Farmers have been advised to start the cultivation of oilseed crops from the beginning
of October to get bumper yield.
A spokesman for the agriculture department told reporter here on Wednesday that approved
varieties of oilseed crops- Khanpur Raya, Chakwal Raya, Chakwal Sarson, DGL Sarson,
Tarameera, Punjab Canola, Faisalabad Canola and PARC Canola Hybrid should be
cultivated as these were not only more resistance against pest attacks but also give
maximum yield.
However, farmers should complete the cultivation of approved varieties of oil-seed crops
by October 31.
