PESHAWAR: Preliminary trials for selection of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa athletics teams for All Pakistan Inter-Provincial Under-16 Girls and Under-17 Boys Athletics Championship have been completed here and players have been selected for the camp initially.
DG Sports Asfandyar Khan Khattak was the chief guest along with Director Development Saleem Raza, District Sports Officer Tehseen Ullah, AD Sports Niamat Ullah, Chief Coach Shafqat Ullah, selectors Khursheed Khan Marwat, Abid Afridi, Zafran Afridi, Adnan Khan, Asad Ullah and other dignitaries were also present.
Athletics In-charge and Administrator Peshawar Sports Complex Jaffer Shah spoke to media and said that All Pakistan Inter-Provincial Athletic Meet will be held from September 27-29, 2021 for which the preliminary trials have been completed.
A large number of boys and girls participated in the trials.
The final trials will be held on September 22 and 23 in which the final teams will be announced.
Subhan, Wahab and Yusuf in 800 meters, Ikram in long jump, Omar, Salman, Babar Zia, Sanan Ahmed in 110 meters hurdles and Ahmed Ali in 400 meters hurdles, Subhan and Bilal in Javelin throw.
M. Jawad shot put contestants include Abdullah Manan and Zulqarnain in the discus throw while Shahzad and Sajidullah in the long jump.
Shehzad, Parkha, Fatima and Aqsa were selected in girl events.
A total of 32 players will represent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the All Pakistan Inter-Provincial Athletic Meet.
