Pak-China experts discuss classics translation & publication project at online conference

ISLAMABAD:China-Pakistan Classics Translation and Publication is a unique project which will further enhance the literary ties between Pakistan and China in a fruitful and distinctive way.

Chairman Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) Dr. Yousuf Khushk expressed these views during a preliminary online meeting/joint conference of experts of Pakistan and China, said a press release.

After the introduction of experts, the procedure of the implementation plan of MoU of Mutual Translation and Publication Project was discussed by the experts.

Ms. Kishwar Naheed renowned poetess, Iftikhar Arif Urdu poet, scholar, Dr. Rauf Parekh, Director General, National Language Promotion Department, Islamabad, Dr. Hakim Ali Buriro, Assistant Prof, Department of Pakistani Languages AIOU Islamabad, Mr. Muhammad Asim Butt, Director PAL, Akhtar Raza Saleemi, Editor Urdu PAL, Mir Nawaz Solangi, Assistant Director (S&A) and Ms. Fiza Gul joined the meeting from Pakistan side while Xie Shouguang, Deputy Director of Social Sciences Academic Press, Lu Shulin, Former Ambassador Extraordinary, Xiao Long, Curator of Shanxi University Library, Liu Shuxiong, Professor of Center for South Asia Studies, Yuan Nan, Editor-in-Chief of Yilin Press Ltd., Liu Qinqiu, Deputy Director of Phoenix Publishing & Media, Xu Chen, Project Coordinator of Phoenix Publishing & Media Inc.Global Business Department, Wang Yuqiang, Rights Manager/Editor of Yilin Press, Gao Yan, Vice President of Veritas & Mercurius Publishing Ltd, Yu Hui, Deputy Director of Jiangsu People’s Publishing Ltd., Xu Baofeng, Executive Vice-president, Belt and Road Academy of Beijing Language and Culture University and Kong Zewu, Deputy Secretary General. “The China-Pakistan Classics Translation and Publication will be a flagship project of both the countries, we will give it highest priority to making it a success”, said Nie Zhenning, Former President of China Publishing Group, Chairman of Taofen Foundation, Vice-Chairman of the Publishers Association of China.
