ISLAMABAD: Leader of the House in Senate Dr Shahzad Waseem Friday said Pakistan had a clear foreign policy that was moving in the right direction to yield the required results.
“Pakistan’s foreign policy is moving in the right direction. We also have relations with America, China and Russia. Under the dynamic leadership, Pakistan is achieving a distinctive place in the world, ” he said while responding to questions raised by Senator Sherry Rehman about the foreign policy during the Senate proceedings.
He said Senator Sherry Rehman tried to mislead the House by presenting distorted facts about the country’s international relations.
Dr Shahzad said Pakistan had the stated policy that it was not part of any camp as it wanted good relations with all countries including neighbours.
Senator Faisal Javed said it was the result of Pakistan’s effective foreign policy that successfully exposed the real face of India before the world, highlighting massive human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He said the whole world was giving due respect to Pakistan because of its crucial role on various fronts.
Earlier, Senator Sherry Rehman strongly condemned the Hijab-wearing restriction imposed on female students in educational institutes of the so-called secular state of India.
She urged the international community especially human rights organizations to take notice of the denial of freedom of expression, which was the globally recognized fundamental right of a citizen. “No one can be forced to wear or not wear the Hijab (veil).”
Senator Mushtaq Ahmed paid tribute to Muskan Khan, a brave Muslim girl student, for showing exemplary courage by standing firmly against Hindu extremists who surrounded her wearing a Hijab (veil) in the Karnataka state of India.
Terming her the daughter of Islam, they said Muskan had become a role model for all Muslim girls and reminded the key role of women in the propagation of Islam.
