KARACHI: Pakistan’s total liquid foreign reserves rise to a new high US$ 24.414 billion in the week ended on 02-Jul-2021 owing to GOP loan disbursement from China and the World Bank.
According to a statement issued by the SBP on Thursday, the central bank received
US$1,000 million as GOP loan disbursement from China and US$440 million from World Bank.
After accounting for external debt repayments and other official payments, SBP reserves increased by US$1,112 million to US$17,231.1 million the highest ever level of liquid foreign reserves.
Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks stood at US$7,183.8 million while the total liquid foreign reserves held by the country amounted to US$24,414.9 million.
In the previous week total liquid foreign reserves held by the country were US$23,297.4 million. Of them US$16,119.4 million were held by the State Bank of Pakistan while commercial banks held US$7,178 million as liquid foreign reserves in the week ended on June 25, 2021.
