Punjab sports minister launches Newsletter of Punjab e-Rozgar Programme

LAHORE:Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti launched the first Newsletter of Punjab e-Rozgar Programme at a largely-attended ceremony at SBP E-Library Nishtar Park Sports Complex, here on Friday.

Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and international e-Payment company Payoneer also signed an MoU [memorandum of understanding] on this occasion to make it convenient for freelancers about their payments from international clients.

Punjab Sports Minister was the chief guest of the ceremony. Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fuad Hashim Rabbani, Director General Sports Board (SBP) Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh, Director General Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Sajid Latif, Partnership Manager Payoneer Afaf Noor and other officials were also present.

Addressing the ceremony Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said the launching of Punjab e-Rozgar Program’s Newsletter was definitely a major development. “The success stories of e-Rozgar Program and e-Rozgar freelancers will be highlighted appropriately in the Newsletter. It will Providing sufficient opportunities to potential youth to grow in their respective careers is the top priority of our govt”.

The minister said: “I feel great honour on being chosen to serve the youth of the province. Our department is introducing advanced courses in e-Commerce through which our thousands of talented youth are earning a great amount of money”.

He announced bringing e-Commerce programme in near future. “Hopefully, this programme will bring revolution in the field of e-Commerce. Through this programme, our youth can excel in the international market and earn millions of rupees”.

Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti further said that great poet Allama Iqbal gave a concept of ‘Khudi’ (The Self) in his poetry. “Actually the concept of ‘Khudi’ provides a great amount of motivation to an individual. We will attribute the field of freelancing to Iqbal’s ‘Khudi’. Our talented youth should utilize their abilities properly,” he urged.

The sports minister congratulated the certificate-winning youngsters and informed that Punjab govt is also bringing an e-Earn Programme in near future. “Our E-Libraries are available for this valuable programme”.

Addressing the ceremony Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fuad Hashim Rabbani said that the 63 percent youth of our country is actually our great power. “We need to teach our youth modern knowledge and skills. E-Commerce programme is the best project for our youth and they must take full benefit from this programme and get rid of their financial issues”.

He said that the number of e-Rozgar Centres is being increased across the province. “Our youth will get more opportunities to earn money through the MoU between Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab, PITB and international e-Payment company Payoneer”.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fuad Hashim Rabbani said that our youth is fully utilizing the e-Rozgar programme to earn a respectable livelihood for their families. “The number of youth is increasing speedily in this programme. We are expanding this programme after witnessing the awesome interest of our youth. Definitely, this programme is helping a lot in eradicating unemployment in the province”.

Director General Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Sajid Latif said that more e-Rozgar Centres are being established on the direction of Punjab Sports Minister. “As many as 35 thousand youth have been given training in our e-Rozgar Centres and in return they have earned Rs 350 million in a short span of time”.

He said that PITB has signed MoU with Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab and international e-Payment company Payoneer to resolve issues of freelancers.

Saba Khalil, who got training through Punjab’s e-Rozgar Programme, on this occasion said that she had quitted her job after joining e-Rozgar Programme and earned Rs 40 lakh within a short period. “Now I am imparting training to several young boys and girls at my own training centre,” she added.

Punjab Minister for Sports awarded souvenirs to Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Fuad Hashim Rabbani, Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh, DG PITB Sajid Latif and Partnership Manager of Payoneer Afaf Noor on this occasion.

Punjab Sports Minister also distributed appreciation certificates among top performers Saba Khalil, Shaiza and Rukhsana Kausar.
