LAHORE: At least ten persons were killed and 1388 injured in 1,262 road accidents in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.
Out of these, 731 people with serious injuries were shifted to hospitals, while 657 victims with minor injuries were treated at the sites by Rescue medical teams thus reducing the burden of hospitals.
Furthermore, the analysis showed that 614 drivers, 58 underage drivers, 174 pedestrians, and 610 passengers were among the victims. The statistics show that 285 accidents were reported in Lahore which affected 322 persons placing the provincial capital at top of the list followed by 109 in Faisalabad with 115 victims and at third Gujranwala with 77 accidents and 75 victims.
According to the data 1,140 motorbikes, 87 rickshaws, 112 cars, 18 vans, 8 buses, 23 trucks and 126 other types of vehicles and carts were involved in the accidents.
