18,000 saplings distributed in Burewala to mark trilateral defence agreement


Burewala: The joy over the trilateral defence cooperation agreement was marked in Burewala with an environment-friendly initiative as 18,000 saplings were distributed free of cost among citizens, educational institutions and various government and social organisations.



The initiative was organised jointly by civil society and the tehsil administration. A ceremony was held at the gymnasium of Quaid-i-Azam Stadium, where Assistant Commissioner Javed Hussain Malik attended as the chief guest.



Saplings were handed over to representatives of educational institutions and government and social organisations. Addressing the gathering, speakers said plantation was essential to combat environmental pollution and the effects of climate change.



They stressed that protecting and caring for planted trees was equally important for achieving the desired results. Javed Hussain appreciated the joint efforts of civil society and the tehsil administration.



He said linking national celebrations with positive and constructive activities was a commendable initiative. Civil society representatives added that the plantation campaign would continue in the future to make Burewala greener and cleaner.
