19 workers of banned religious party sent to jail for identification parade

Lahore: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday sent 19 newly arrested workers of a banned religious party to jail for an identification parade in cases involving rioting, arson and attacks on police.

The police produced the 19 suspects before the court with their faces covered and requested that they be sent to jail for identification by witnesses.

The prosecutor told the court that the suspects were allegedly involved in attacks on police personnel, arson and rioting.

ATC Judge Manzer Ali Gill accepted the police request and ordered that the identification parade be completed within seven days.

Police from Shahdara Town and Shahdara police stations produced nine suspects each, while Factory Area police presented one suspect before the court.
