Bahawalpur: Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia visited the under-construction Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority

(PERA) City Bahawalpur Enforcement Station near Millat Colony and One Unit Staff Colony to review quality of work.

During the visit, officials briefed the commissioner on the project’s progress, construction standards, and the status of various development phases.

According to a briefing by the director Development, the state-of-the-art enforcement station is being constructed in line with the directives of the Punjab government to modernize and strengthen the province’s enforcement system.

The facility will include a ground floor and first floor, a guard room, a secure boundary wall, a main entrance gate, a parking shed, and other essential administrative and office facilities, providing an improved working environment for staff and enhancing public service delivery.

Officials informed the commissioner that the construction of the boundary wall has been completed, while the foundation of the main building has also been successfully finished. Brick masonry above the plinth beam level is progressing rapidly, and all available resources are being utilized to ensure the project’s completion within the prescribed timeline.

Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia emphasized the importance of maintaining high construction standards, transparency, and timely execution. He directed the concerned departments and the construction contractor to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe without compromising on quality.

He stated that the Punjab government places the timely completion of public welfare projects among its highest priorities and warned that no compromise on construction quality would be tolerated.

Kohat: Assistant commissioners in Kohat on Tuesday carried out inspections of public facilities on Monday to review sanitation measures, assess monsoon preparedness, and evaluate sports infrastructure as part of the district administration’s ongoing public welfare initiatives.

Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz, Assistant Commissioner (Headquarters) Naveed Ahmad visited women and children’s parks, Basic Health Units (BHUs), and areas vulnerable to flash flooding. During the inspections, he directed relevant departments to ensure proper cleanliness, regular maintenance, and timely desilting of drains to reduce the risk of urban flooding during the monsoon season.

Officials were also instructed to maintain parks and health facilities in hygienic condition and implement preventive measures to safeguard public health and improve civic services. The inspections formed part of the District Sanitation Drive aimed at enhancing municipal preparedness ahead of seasonal rains.

Separately, Additional Assistant Commissioner Gambat Syed Mukhtiar Shah inspected the Babri Banda Sports Ground to review its condition, cleanliness, available facilities, and ongoing sporting activities. He directed the concerned staff to improve maintenance of the ground, preserve its greenery, and ensure the provision of basic amenities, reaffirming the district administration’s commitment to promoting a safe and healthy environment for sports and community recreation.

The speakers emphasized that strong communication skills, positive thinking and a balanced lifestyle play a vital role in achieving personal growth and professional success. They encouraged participants to adopt healthy habits and improve their interpersonal skills to confidently face the challenges of everyday life.
