Abbottabad: Commissioner Hazara, Fayyaz Ali Shah, chaired an important jirga at the Commissioner Office Abbottabad to discuss the law and order situation in the Baleja area and measures for promoting tourism.

The jirga was attended by Muhammad Nawaz Khan, Sardar Muhammad Riaz, Nasir Mahmood Satti, and other respected elders and notables from the area.

During the meeting, participants held detailed discussions on the overall law and order situation, mutual harmony, and measures to ensure lasting peace in the region. The local elders reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace, brotherhood, tolerance, and unity, and pledged to continue resolving disputes through the traditional jirga system, mutual consultation, and dialogue.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Hazara Fayyaz Ali Shah said that Baleja is blessed with natural beauty and possesses significant potential for tourism development. He emphasized that sustainable peace is the foundation of progress and prosperity, urging local elders to play an active role in maintaining peace and stability, strengthening social cohesion, and contributing to the area’s development.

He further said that the establishment of lasting peace in Baleja Meadow and adjoining areas would boost tourism, helping to project the region’s positive image while creating new opportunities for employment, business, and economic growth for the local population.

At the conclusion of the jirga, all participants reaffirmed their collective commitment to working together for sustainable peace, brotherhood, and mutual cooperation in the area.

Peshawar: A police mobile vehicle met with an accident on the motorway near the Colonel Sher Khan Interchange in Swabi, leaving five police personnel seriously injured.

According to Rescue 1122, medical teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving the emergency call. The injured officials were provided with first aid before being shifted to Mardan Hospital for further treatment.

Hospital officials later confirmed that one of the injured cop, identified as Faheem succumbed to his injuries. The deceased cop was a resident of Lakki Marwat.

The remaining four injured policemen are receiving medical treatment. Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.

Sukkur: Advisor to the Chief Minister Sindh and Official Spokesperson for the Sindh Government, Sukhdev Asardas Hemnani on Wednesday visited the under construction Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Filtration Plant at Village Muhammad Azeem Manik, District Ghotki.

The plant has been established under the Village Improvement Plan (VIP) through his special quota.

Senior District Manager of Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO), along with the district team and community representatives, welcomed the guest and briefed him on the progress of the scheme.

The RO filtration plant is being cited as a successful model of the Village Improvement Plan, aimed at providing safe drinking water and improving the quality of life for surrounding communities.

The scheme is being managed by Village Organization Ekta, reflecting strong community ownership and participation. SRSO facilitated the planning, implementation, capacity building and is providing continued technical support to ensure sustainability of the intervention.

Hemnani appreciated the dedication of the local community in the construction of the plant and acknowledged the effective role of SRSO in implementing sustainable development initiatives in the area.
