Multan: The Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Department has launched a Sahulat Desk to facilitate farmers under Chief Minister Punjab’s development schemes for the livestock sector.

Widowed and divorced women in Multan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan divisions will be provided animals free of cost under a poverty alleviation initiative, Senior Veterinary Officer Dr Jamshaid Akhtar told APP.

Under the Veterinary Internship Programme, veterinary graduates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs60,000, while para-vets will be paid Rs40,000, he said.

The Chief Minister Punjab Livestock Card scheme, however, is applicable across the entire province, Dr Jamshaid Akhtar said.

He said the Sahulat Desk would serve as a single-window facility, enabling livestock farmers to access these schemes conveniently. Farmers, widows and divorced women would be imparted all information related to facilities being given by Punjab government.

Sargodha: Punjab Minister for Mines and Minerals Sher Ali Khan Gurchani on Wednesday inaugurated a state-of-the-art drainage system, constructed at a cost of Rs 424 million, at Asia’s largest stone crushing market in Chak no 126 SB of tehsil Sillanwali. The ceremony was attended by Secretary Mines Punjab Pervaiz Iqbal, Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali, Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhary, Director General Mines, MPA and Provincial Chairman Zakat,Ushr Council Punjab Rana Munawar Ghous, MPA Mian Ikram-ul-Haq, and other senior officials.

Addressing the participants, the minister stated that on the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, development projects worth over Rs 43 billion were being executed across Sargodha to improve regional infrastructure.

He emphasized that the stone crushing industry plays a pivotal role in the national economy, and the government is committed to providing better facilities to the laborers and businessmen associated with this sector.

Sardar Sher Ali Khan Gurchani noted that the accumulation of rainwater in Chak No 116, 123, and 126 SB previously caused significant disruptions, but the new drain would ensure effective water disposal and uninterrupted business activities.

The minister also directed the relevant authorities to upgrade the labor community school and the local dispensary to ensure quality education and healthcare for the workers’ families.

Sialkot: Incharge Federal Ombudsperson Gujranwala Region Malik Mushtaq Ahmad Awan paid a visit to Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) to observe airport operations and assess the quality of services being provided to passengers.

During the visit, he monitored live flight operations and closely observed the performance and coordination of various government agencies operating at the airport. He also interacted with passengers to receive firsthand feedback regarding the services and facilities available at Sialkot International Airport.

Later, the visiting official met with the airport administration, where Airport Manager SIAL Nisar Ahmad, gave a comprehensive briefing on the airport’s ongoing operations, the responsibilities of various government agencies, and the passenger facilitation measures being implemented across the airport.
