Muzaffargarh: The Punjab Agriculture Department successfully conducted a transparent balloting process for the distribution of Super Seeder subsidies in Muzaffargarh under its farmer-friendly and environmentally sustainable initiative aimed at promoting modern agricultural practices.

According to the department’s spokesperson, a total of 75 applications were received for the subsidy scheme. After scrutiny, six applications were rejected for not meeting the eligibility criteria, while 69 applications were included in the computerized balloting process.

As a result of the draw, 35 farmers were declared successful and selected to receive the Super Seeder subsidy, while the remaining 34 applicants were placed on the waiting list.

The balloting was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Muzaffargarh Ali Sameer to ensure transparency and fairness. Deputy Director Agriculture Shakeel Anwar and Assistant Director Agriculture Bashir Khan Buzdar served as members of the balloting committee.

The Punjab Agriculture Department said the Super Seeder subsidy programme is part of the provincial government’s efforts to support farmers, encourage the adoption of modern farm machinery, and promote environmentally friendly crop residue management by discouraging stubble burning.

Rawalpindi: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday adjourned the hearing on the post-arrest bail applications of the former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman in seven different cases until August 12 without any proceedings.

The cases, registered at various police stations in Rawalpindi and Taxila, pertain to the violent protests organized by the PTI in September and October last year.

During the scheduled hearing, the former PTI chief’s counsel, Muhammad Faisal, and Senior Prosecutor Zaheer Shah appeared before the special court. However, the court deferred the matter to the next month without conducting further arguments on the bail petitions.

Peshawar: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Food Dr. Muhammad Israr Khan on Friday chaired a performance review meeting of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority (KPFSandHFA).

The meeting was attended by Director General KP Food Authority Kashif Iqbal Jilani, Director Operations Muhammad Yousaf, Director Administration Amir Hassan and other senior officials.

Meeting reviewed ongoing enforcement campaigns, reform initiatives, newly introduced applications under Management Information System (MIS) and the province wide special milk inspection drive.

Director General Food Authority briefed the meeting on overall performance, ongoing special campaigns, digital reforms and future roadmap aimed at strengthening food safety regulations across the province.

Addressing the meeting, Dr. Muhammad Israr Khan said the provincial government was fully committed to ensuring availability of safe, hygienic and adulteration free food for the people.

He said the KP food authority was carrying out daily inspections, sampling and enforcement operations across the province to eliminate elements involved in food adulteration and to safeguard public health.

CM aide directed field officers to further strengthen surveillance of milk, ghee and cooking oil stressing that enforcement teams should identify the sources of substandard products and also seize vehicles involved in their transportation.
