Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Friday visited the residence of martyred District and Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar, where he offered condolences and prayers with the bereaved family.

He met the children and other relatives of the slain judge, praying for the elevation of the martyr’s ranks and patience for the family.

During his interaction, the Chief Minister assured the family that the Balochistan government would never leave the heirs of martyrs alone. He added that Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar sacrificed his life in the service of justice and the supremacy of law, and his name will be remembered in golden words in history.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced that the provincial government would bear the expenses of the education and upbringing of the martyr’s children to ensure their future is not affected. He emphasized that caring for the families of martyrs is the government’s responsibility, and this duty would be fulfilled without compromise.

The Chief Minister reiterated that every conspiracy to destabilize Balochistan’s peace, development, and institutions through terrorism would be defeated. He declared that terrorists would never succeed in their malicious designs, as the government stands united with all state institutions and security forces in the fight against terrorism. He vowed that the sacrifices of martyrs would not go in vain and that peace-enemies would be brought to justice.

Later, Mir Sarfraz Bugti visited the local hospital to inquire after the health of Additional Sessions Judge Tariq Lashari, who was injured in the Mastung attack. He met the judge, reviewed the medical facilities being provided, and prayed for his speedy and complete recovery.

Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti met with Provincial Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) Maulana Abdul Wasay here on Friday in which detailed discussions were held on the law and order situation in the province, overall political and social conditions and other matters of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that establishing lasting peace in Balochistan is the top priority of the government and the positive role of all political, social and religious leadership is of utmost importance to achieve this goal.

He said that the entire nation would have to stand united against terrorism and peace-threatening elements so that lasting peace and stability could be ensured in Balochistan.

The Chief Minister said that the government is utilizing all available resources to protect the lives and property of the people and effective steps are being taken to improve law and order situation.

He expressed his determination to move forward by taking all relevant stakeholders together for the development, prosperity and rule of law in the province.

On this occasion, Provincial Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F Maulana Abdul Wasay stressed the need for collective efforts to establish peace and stability and said that the solution to Balochistan’s problems lies in mutual consultation, political harmony and national unity.

Quetta: Comprehensive planning is needed to effectively deal with the challenges arising from the rapid increase in population, for national development and prosperity, it is necessary to provide equal opportunities to every individual and utilize the talents of the youth in a positive direction.

These views were expressed by Parliamentary Secretary for Population Welfare Department Prince Agha Umar Ahmadzai, Secretary Population Welfare Zafar Buledi, UNDP’s Zulfiqar Durrani, Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman, UNFPA’s Sadia Atta, Zulqara Durrani, Ambreen Mengal, Deputy Director Population Nasir Khan Atta-ur-Rehman Khilji.

The ceremony was organized on the occasion World Population Day by Population Welfare Department and UNFPA at local hotel here. Provincial Minister Mir Asim Kurd Gello and Member Provincial Assembly Dr. Nawaz Kabzai also attended the function.

They said that the purpose of celebrating World Population Day is to create awareness about the challenges related to population, promote efforts to achieve sustainable development and highlight the importance of collective actions for a better future.

The speakers highlighted that the Population Welfare Department is guiding married couples about family planning and ensuring free provision of items used for family planning.

Concerned speakers mentioned that the celebration of World Population Day was initiated by the United Nations in 1989. The aim of this day is to raise global awareness about population issues, reproductive health, women’s and youth rights, family planning, quality health and education, and sustainable development.

They stated that this year too, the United Nations has emphasized on empowering youth and providing them with equal opportunities to make independent decisions about their future adding that instead of considering the growing population as just a problem, it is the need of the hour to transform it into a force for national development through education, skills, and better health facilities.

‘Pakistan is among the most populous countries in the world, where according to the recent census, the population has crossed 240 million. Due to the continuous increase in population, the demand for health, education, employment, housing, clean water, transport, and other basic facilities is increasing significantly’, they told.

They said that World Population Day reminds us of the fact that future prosperity depends on transforming population growth into a national strength through effective planning, human development, quality education, better health, and equal opportunities.

Referring to this year’s theme, “Turning the hopes and aspirations of youth into reality for today and the future, ” they stated that youth are a valuable asset of any country, they can be made effective partners in the development of the country through the provision of quality education, better health facilities, skill development opportunities and decent employment.

They noted that Pakistan is among those countries in the world where the population is increasing rapidly, which is causing additional pressure on the country’s limited resources, educational and medical facilities, employment opportunities and basic services.

The speakers maintained that far-reaching policies, effective measures and better utilization of available resources are needed to solve these problems so that the population could be a positive force for the development of the country, all segments of the society need to play their role in dealing with the population problem.

‘Civil society, media, scholars and scholars would play an effective role in creating awareness among the public to control the rapid increase in population’, they said.

They stressed that through collective efforts, sustainable development, economic stability and the goals of improving the standard of living of the people can be achieved adding that a balanced population is very important for the country’s development, economic stability and provision of basic facilities to the people.

Narrators said that World Population Day is being celebrated at a time when the world’s population has crossed eight billion, the growing need for food, employment, health, education, housing, clean water and other basic facilities has created new challenges for governments and policymakers.
