Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise Minister, Syed Fakhar Jehan Saturday offered fateha for martyred officer Sajjadul Islam during his visit to Khweshgi in District Nowshera

The Minister was accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary for Excise Zar Alam Khan. The minister expressed his heartfelt condolences and sympathies with bereaved family. He met martyr’s father and children of martyred officer.

He said that Shaheed Sajjadul Islam sacrificed his precious life in line of duty. The Minister announced that provincial government would provide all financial benefits and compensation to martyr’s family under Shaheed Package.

He added that provincial government would also bear all educational expenses of martyr’s children.

Faisalabad: Director General Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Muhammad Asif Chaudhary has directed FDA officers that all court orders in cases involving the Authority should be complied with responsibly and the FDA’s position in every under trial case should be presented clearly, effectively and strictly in accordance with the law.

He emphasized that all relevant legal provisions, rules and regulations and government policies must be duly considered during court proceedings to ensure the effective protection of the Authority’s interests.

He issued these directives during a meeting while hearing the viewpoint of one of the parties regarding implementation of a court order in a case.

Director Town Planning Asma Mohsin, Legal Consultant Rana Saleem and other relevant officers were also present on the occasion.

Reviewing the laws, rules, regulations and policies relating to town planning, the Director General stated that providing timely relief to citizens within the legal framework is the Authority’s responsibility.

‘No applicant should face unnecessary delays or unjustified legal obstacles’, he added.

He further directed that wherever legal complications arise, every possible administrative and legal avenue should be explored to resolve the matter before it reaches the stage of court proceedings.

He said that transparency in public affairs, adherence to the rule of law and the citizen-friendly delivery of departmental services are the guiding principles of the FDA.

Therefore, all officers must discharge their professional responsibilities in accordance with the law while ensuring that merit, fairness, and transparency remain the foremost considerations in every case, he added.

FDA Director General also instructed officers to further strengthen inter-departmental coordination so that legal cases can be defended promptly and effectively, while ensuring the immediate resolution of citizens’ legitimate issues.

Reaffirming his commitment to institutional reforms, he said that the FDA is implementing a modern command and control system aimed at providing citizens with maximum convenience, faster services and timely relief in accordance with legal requirements.

Khanewal: Kala police on Saturday arrested two men allegedly involved in the murder of advocate Jameel Lund, following the intervention of the District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ghazi Khan.

Police said the accused had opened fire over a previous litigation dispute, killing Jameel and injuring two others, identified as Robas and Hamza.

Taking notice of the incident, the DPO directed the SHO concerned to trace the culprits. Using modern investigation techniques, intelligence information and continuous raids, Kala police arrested the two accused along with weapons used in the crime.

The police said further investigation was under way, while legal action was being taken against the accused in accordance with the law.

The DPO commended the police team for the operation and directed that indiscriminate action against elements involved in heinous crimes continue to ensure protection of citizens’ lives and property.

Sargodha: District Police Officer (DPO) Sargodha Tauqeer Muhammad Naeem on Saturday suspended three police constables and ordered departmental proceedings against them for misusing their authority.

According to a spokesperson for the Sargodha police, the suspended officials include Constable Ruheel Asghar, Constable Muhammad Naeem, and Constable Nazim Hussain. DPO Tauqeer Muhammad Naeem stated that corruption, misuse of power, and professional misconduct would not be tolerated within the department under any circumstances.

He emphasized that the process of self-accountability and reward and punishment would continue indiscriminately across the district police force to ensure transparency.

Burewala: The Punjab government’s “Sanjhi Sabzi Initiative”, launched under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is being implemented in Vehari district, where vegetables have been cultivated on one acre of land in Chak No. 83/WB.

The plantation has been completed under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Vehari Anam Akram, who said the vegetables would be distributed free of cost among the local community, particularly deserving and low-income families, once the crop is ready.

She said the initiative aims to provide fresh vegetables to vulnerable households and added that similar public welfare projects would continue in line with the chief minister’s vision.

Sargodha: A woman was killed and another sustained injuries when the roof of a house collapsed due to rain Sahiwal Tehsil on Saturday. According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson, the district control room received an emergency call that a roof made of traditional straw and a portion of the building had caved in, trapping two women under the debris.

The rescue teams and ambulances were immediately dispatched to the site to initiate relief operations. Upon arrival, rescue personnel recovered 40-year-old Nasreen who had suffered fatal head while 70-year-old Ghulam Sakina received injuries.
