Home Minister Zia Langove visits family of martyred Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar


Quetta: Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove visited the residence of martyred District and Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar to offer condolences and prayers.



During his meeting with the bereaved family, the Home Minister expressed solidarity, assuring them that the government stands firmly with the families of martyrs in their time of grief.



He emphasized that Judge Kakar’s services to justice and the rule of law will always be remembered with respect. Zia Langove strongly condemned the act of terrorism, declaring such incidents intolerable. He vowed that those responsible would be brought to justice and punished according to the law.



The Home Minister further assured that the provincial government will not leave the families of martyrs alone and will extend every possible support to them. He reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting citizens and upholding peace and stability across Balochistan.

Police arrest suspects in robbery, motorcycle theft cases across Balochistan


Quetta: Police in different districts of Balochistan have achieved significant successes in ongoing operations against criminal elements, arresting suspects involved in robbery and motorcycle theft while recovering stolen property and illegal weapons.



Police teams operating in RCD Zawa, Jiwa, Baghbana, and Khuzdar Road areas arrested two members of a suspected robbery gang. According to officials, surveillance had been underway for several days. During a search operation led by SHO Baghbana, suspects Abdul Rahim and Amir Bakhsh were apprehended. Police recovered two pistols with magazines, a stolen Chinese motorcycle, and two valuable stolen mobile phones. A case has been registered, and further investigation is in progress to trace other accomplices and related incidents.



In Sibi, City Police successfully arrested a suspect identified as Murad, allegedly involved in motorcycle theft. The stolen motorcycle was recovered during the operation. Police confirmed that a case has been registered, and interrogation is continuing.



Meanwhile, in Panjgur, District Police arrested a suspect during an operation by City Police Station. The accused, identified as Saleem son of Muhammad Yaqoob, resident of Gharibabad Chitkan, was found in possession of a stolen motorcycle. Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation.



Authorities said that these operations reflect the police’s commitment to curbing crime and ensuring public safety across Balochistan.

Governor Mandokhail vows lasting peace and stability across Balochistan


Quetta: Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has expressed confidence that lasting peace and stability will soon be established across the province. He said recent measures taken by the government and law enforcement agencies are already yielding positive results for public safety and daily life.



The Governor emphasized that protecting the lives and property of citizens is the constitutional and administrative responsibility of the government. In a statement issued here, he noted that all available resources are being mobilized to secure major national highways and trade routes, including Chaman-Karachi, Taftan-Quetta, Quetta-Jacobabad, and Zhob corridors. These routes, he added, are vital for trade, transportation, connectivity, and regional integration.



Jaffar Mandokhail acknowledged that ordinary citizens bear the greatest burden of unrest and instability.



He highlighted the challenges faced by traders, farmers, and small business owners, stressing that sustainable peace is the foundation for economic growth, political stability, new investment, job creation, and overall prosperity in Balochistan.



He urged the people of the province, along with political organizations, to cooperate with the government and law enforcement agencies in achieving durable peace. ‘It is the responsibility of all political parties to play their part in safeguarding provincial and public interests, ‘ he said.



Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Governor Jaffar Mandokhail pledged unwavering resolve to protect every citizen and strengthen the writ of the state in every district. He concluded that through collective efforts, the province can overcome challenges and crises with ease.

MandE Report uncovers irregularities in flood-affected school project in Tank


Tank: A Monitoring and Evaluation (MandE) report of the Planning and Development Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has identified serious irregularities in the reconstruction work of Government Primary School (GPS) Garwaki under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Human Capital Investment Project (KPHCIP).



The project was initially approved at a cost of Rs. 14. 712 million; however, the Technical Sanction (TS) was later reduced to Rs. 7. 279 million. The report termed this significant reduction questionable and called for a detailed justification of the discrepancy.



Furthermore, the original PC-I allocated funds solely for the construction of a boundary wall, but the executing agency altered the scope to include construction of a classroom along with a 65-foot boundary wall.



During the site visit on August 29, 2025, the MandE team observed that the classroom under construction deviated from the approved standard design dimensions.



The report also highlighted poor workmanship, major structural defects, weak coordination among stakeholders, lack of supervision, and absence of proper documentation, including site registers and dismantled material records.



Meanwhile, local residents and parents have raised serious concerns, stating that more than 250 students are currently enrolled in the school and are facing space constraints due to limited infrastructure.



They have demanded a transparent inquiry into the project’s inclusion, cost revisions, and changes in scope, urging the authorities to ensure adequate facilities for the large number of students.



The MandE wing has recommended that the Project Director and concerned officials provide written justifications within the stipulated timeframe and ensure strict adherence to approved designs and procedures. It also called for corrective measures and possible disciplinary action if irregularities are confirmed.

Two-member gang involved in street crimes arrested in Rawalpindi


Rawalpindi: Police have arrested a two-member gang allegedly involved in a robbery and recovered a stolen motorcycle and a mobile phone from their possession here on Sunday.



According to police, the suspects were apprehended during a targeted operation carried out by Morgah Police. The recovered motorcycle and mobile phone had been snatched during the robbery, official said.



SP Potohar Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan said the suspects would be presented to court with solid evidence to ensure their prosecution.



He added that individuals who deprive citizens of their valuable belongings would not evade the law, reaffirming the police’s commitment to protect public property and maintaining law and order.



Likewise, Banni Police have arrested a suspect allegedly involved in a theft at an apartment and recovered stolen valuables, including a laptop, a mobile phone, a wristwatch, and other items.

AJK CEC urges Mirpur voters to turn out in large numbers on July 27


Mirpur (ajk): Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chief Election Commissioner Justice (Retd. ) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal has urged the people of Mirpur Division to actively participate in the AJK general elections scheduled for July 27 in all three districts of the division, describing voting as a national, constitutional and civic responsibility.



In a video message, on Sunday, the Chief Election Commissioner said that a strong, stable and vibrant democratic system rests on the will of the people expressed through the ballot box. He called upon every eligible voter to come out on polling day and cast their vote freely and according to their conscience.



He said that the effective use of the right to vote is the foundation of a strong democracy and that maximum public participation would make the electoral process more transparent, credible and effective.



Justice (Retd) Mughal said comprehensive security arrangements had been put in place at all polling stations to ensure that voters could exercise their democratic right without fear. He added that security personnel and Quick Response Force (QRF) teams would be deployed at every polling station, while effective security would also be provided for voters travelling to and from polling stations.



He warned that any attempt to disrupt the electoral process, intimidate voters or disturb law and order would not be tolerated, and strict legal action would be taken against those found violating the law.



The Chief Election Commissioner urged voters to elect representatives capable of addressing public issues and contributing to the development, prosperity and welfare of the region. He expressed confidence that the people of Mirpur Division would play their part in strengthening democracy by participating in peaceful, transparent and orderly elections.



Reiterating his appeal Justice (Retd. ) Mughal urged all eligible voters to leave their homes on July 27, cast their votes and contribute to reinforcing the democratic process in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
